Legacy Astrophotography - The Summer Triangle

As Summer has passed and the Milky Way is slowly edging toward the west, the Great Rift is placed at the meridian come darkness. On the evening of October 2, I composed a two frame mosaic to capture the awe and beauty of the Great Rift as it plows though the Summer Triangle. Here is the results. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Two frames composed vertically with true north up. Each frame a 60 minute exposure with the Pentax 67 and 105mm @ f/4. Fujicolor Superia 100 negative film was used to capture the vista.

  1. Hi - just popping over from Bluejay's Way, and I am *very* impressed with your pictures! I wish we could see skies like this over New York City, but alas, light pollution and all. Thanks for the breathtaking views of the cosmos - I look forward to seeing more.

  2. Thanks Bluejay. I have enjoyed the rusults.
